DeVonne Sablan
CBRS Specialist
A daughter of the Northern Mariana Islands, I took a leap of faith and moved over to Eagle, Idaho to pursue an MSW at Boise State University. With a Bachelor of Science in Education: Rehabilitation and Human Services from the Northern Marianas College, I have graciously embraced the privilege to engage with individuals with developmental disabilities as well as children and families with experiences of abuse and neglect, many of whom influenced the aspiring social worker I am today. My growing love for empowerment, diversity, and essentially helping and learning from others plays a pivotal role in my decision to pave a fulfilling career path in this field.
My free time is often filled with the simplest traditional activities that our island community values very highly: sharing a meal, gathering around to sing local songs with a ukulele and guitar, fishing, learning about and cooking traditional dishes, exploring and celebrating other cultures, and much more!
