David Olson

LPC-Intern

My name is David Olson. For as far back as I can remember, I’ve loved being with and around people. When I was training for track and field in high school, I remember what an impact my coach, Amy Christofferson, had on my personal well-being. She encouraged me, helped me find my self-esteem, and believed in me as an athlete and as a person. I grew so much as a person because someone had taken the careful time and energy helping me to actualize my potential. When I went to college, I realized after my first year that I wanted to have that same effect in people’s lives: to believe in them, to encourage them, to uplift them, to empower them, and to celebrate their growth with them. I learned that I wanted to become a therapist. Thankfully, I find myself working around other people with that same ambition and vision to help people grow and overcome their life challenges, no matter how difficult they may seem at times. And that is why I am collaborating with Felica Duce and the wonderful team here at Visions Counseling.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwest Nazarene University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. My professional background includes working at the Idaho Elks Rehab Hospital in Boise, teaching at the College of Western Idaho and College of Idaho, and working as a Behavioral Interventionist at Caldwell High School. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing and publishing books on Amazon, watching college football (go Broncos!), spending quality time with my friends and family, researching and investing in stocks, and playing around with AI bots. Eventually, I’d like to create a helpful YouTube channel that would help people overcome some of the common challenges in life. My hope is that some day people remember me for being someone who brought a lot of love and life into this world.
